The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive year.

The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the most on tour – which included successfully defending the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.

A Season of High Performance

Throughout the year, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the entire year as the world number one, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Historic Numbers

Sabalenka ended the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and picked up a historic £11m in earnings.

She earned almost eighty percent of the votes cast by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".

• Returning Star of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, twenty-eight, was voted after taking a extended hiatus after the arrival of her daughter and making her comeback to the sport at the start of this year.
• Newcomer of the Year: Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko received the award after starting the season ranked beyond the world's top 300 and climbing to the eighteenth spot.
• Doubles Team of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were selected after securing their second career Grand Slam title as a pair.
• Biggest Leap of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after reaching five championship matches.

Recently, Carlos Alcaraz won three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, including the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was voted the fan favorite for a third consecutive time.
