Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the sports world had expressed sympathy for the champion in the following the devastating accident.
